Support Services Investigator
State of Connecticut Judicial Branch
Statewide
The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking qualified
individuals to perform service of process of legal documents
relating to child support actions and proceedings; prepare forms to
establish service of documents; conduct investigations to locate
respondents; maintain daily and monthly reports of activities; and
update the child support automated computer system with locate
information and service of process attempts.
Salary Range: $49,745 - $65,134/year – plus State of Connecticut
benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary
for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in
accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Graduation from high school (or GED
certification) and two years of experience in investigations,
collections, law enforcement, security, clerical, social services,
or a related field.
Substitutions Allowed: College training may be substituted for the
General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours
equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of one
year.
SPECIAL EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid
Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a motor vehicle
available for daily use.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbents may be exposed to some risk of
injury from assaultive/abusive clients.
