We currently offer an excellent opportunity for a New Business Development Professional in our NEAM office located in Farmington, CT.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONAs a member of the New Business Development team, the successful candidate will call on Property & Casualty insurers, Life & Health insurers and re-insurers throughout the U.S. and Bermuda to assist with increasing assets under management, drive brand awareness, as well as be a member of a team focused on developing insurance asset management solutions for clients and prospects.
The successful candidate will be able to identify the capital, asset and risk management issues facing the target prospect base (insurers) and will be able to articulate how NEAM's products and services provide desired solutions. The ideal candidate will have the experience, energy, and drive to generate and close on new business opportunities for NEAM. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a marketing strategy for NEAM's target prospects
  • Developing relationships with C-suite decision makers at prospect companies to discuss NEAM solutions
  • Identifying insurance industry trends and positioning NEAM solutions accordingly - both internally and to the market
  • Leading the New Business Development process internally, including RFP (Request for Proposal) responses as well as presenting and managing finals pitches
  • Participating as a key member of the New Client Transition Team
  • Serving as the face of NEAM at conferences and key trade organization and industry events
    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCEThe successful candidate will possess 5 to 10 years of relevant industry related experience with a proven track record of consultative, solutions-driven selling to the target marketplace. We would also consider candidates with less or other industry experience if there is a demonstration of potential based on the current skillset
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships within the target prospect environment
  • Demonstrated history of utilizing internal resources effectively to solicit and close new business
  • Ability to think quickly and offer creative solutions to problems
  • Experience in organizing and delivering prospect presentations in a competitive context
  • Demonstrated professionalism, team orientation and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to travel regularly is required
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA desirable, but not required
    Relevant experience:
  • A solid understanding of a broad range of P&C and/or Life & Health insurance issues
  • Familiarity with the complexities of insurance companies as related to asset / liability management
  • Experience calling on C-suite and existing contacts in the C-suite of insurance companies desirable
    Personal Skills/Attributes/Qualities:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and "road warrior" with the ability to conduct travel and manage their time productively
  • Willingness to learn/transition to a new field of expertise
  • Must be comfortable in a team oriented, collegial environment that prizes strong individual contribution
  • Results driven and exhibits an entrepreneurial approach to business
