Direct Client Requirement Job Title: DataStage ETL Developer Type: Contract to hire Location: Remote Overview: As DataStage ETL Developer, you will be responsible for implementation of file loads and applications using DataStage and PL/SQL. You will also work on future integrations with Hadoop. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement ETL framework for data movement through the enterprise
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Transform legacy ETL logic using the DataStage application into Oracle, Python, or the HDFS Platform
• Innovate new ways of managing, transforming and validating data
• Establish and enforce guidelines to ensure consistency, quality and completeness of data assets
• Apply quality assurance best practices to all work products
• Analyze, design and code business-related solutions, as well as core architectural changes, using an Agile programming approach resulting in software delivered on time and in budget
• Communicate risks or issues stemming from projects or tickets to core teams as well as assigned technical delivery managers Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other related field in addition to relevant work experience required
  • Minimum 3 years' hands on experience using IBM DataStage or similar ETL tool required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in UNIX Shell Scripting or Python Scripting required
  • Minimum 1 year experience performance tuning of ETL jobs, SQL queries and Shell scripts
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Python required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in database programming/development
  • Exposure to Big data platform a plus
  • Experience analyzing and designing deliverables in an Agile environment is required
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions to complex analytical/data-driven problems
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated individual who works well under pressure
