**Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a
nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries
for this role across the country. The actual salary for this
position will be determined by a number of factors, including the
scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education,
training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other
conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation
and benefits program, employees are also eligible for
performance-based cash incentive awards.

As an Architect in the Data and Analytics Architecture, you will be
an working in an dynamic and transformative organization with a
goal to create the next generation data and analytic capabilities
at Travelers, a Dow 30 company. As a member within the Enterprise
Architecture and Emerging Technology organization, you'll be
joining a strategic and collaborative team that is passionate about
transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving
the way for best-in-class solutions. You will collaborate with the
other architects , engineers and the business to apply your
technical expertise to create best solutions to solve impactful
business problems.
**What Will You Do?**
Be an expert in one or more areas across Data & Analytics domain
including data storage (Data Lake & Data Warehouse), data
integration, business intelligence, artificial intelligence &
machine learning
Drive the implementations of domain driven designs of Data Models,
Data APIs and Data Products
Design of the next generation information architecture that enables
a business vision from Guidewire cloud data sources.
Partner with cloud and security architects, data and software
engineers to implement
cutting-edge but pragmatic solutions that will enable business
outcomes with
data and analytics using a combination of deep technical skills,
business acumen, and strong interpersonal skills
Keep up with marketing trends in the Data & Analytics area and
identify new opportunities of technologies & solutions; you will be
part of the team driving the technology selection and partner with
an engineering team to conduct proof of technologies
**Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities**
Architecture responsibility within a major segment of Technology
Architecture in support of the Enterprise Data & Analytics business
unit
Leads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of
architecture solutions
Hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions
Partner with Software Engineering to execute proof of
technologies
Provides architecture direction for engineers in support of a
technical pattern
Displays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern
architecture principals and
technology modernization
Drives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical
debt
Create a partnership with Software Engineering
Looks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances
through analysis of key
industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the
enterprise
Participates in defining target state technology architecture and
roadmaps
Ensures alignment of IT initiatives with the target state
**Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge**
+ Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 4+
years of technology Engineering experience
+ Organizational experience in an agile operating model
+ Established work in proof of concepts and technology
+ Strong proven ETL Engineering experience
+ Supports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short-
and Long-term business goals
+ Insurance technology experience desired
+ Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models
+ Innovation and Continuous Improvement
+ Knowledge of analytics and architecture concepts for Guidewire on
premise and cloud products. Some knowledge of insurance policy,
claims and billing data and concepts is desired.
**Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies**
+ Has hands on experience in build strategies, roadmaps and
solution architecture in the last 3 years
+ Strong experience architecting big data solutions using Data
Lake, Data Warehouse , Data Products
+ Champion of data technologies in areas of data integration,
Business Intelligence and AI/ML
+ Expertise architecting and developing solutions in AWS, Snowflake
and Databricks
+ Experience in AWS components including: Lambda, Kinesis/Firehose,
Airflow, Glue,Spark, EC2, SageMaker, S3, NoSQL database and API
Gateway
+ Experience in data streaming technologies
+ Experience with No SQL and GraphQL technologies
+ Experience in Data Modeling, Governance and Data Management
+ Experience with specific DevOps and MLOps (Machine Learning)
practices
+ Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong
architecture experience on Cloud
+ Good understanding of security
**What is a Must Have?**
+ Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
+ Five years of experience in engineering software or analytic
applications within a line of business area
