Summary/Objectives:Over the past year Abode has led the implementation of Energize CT's residential heat pump support program, which includes direct-to-customer consultations and support, contractor outreach and training, and the management of the Heat Pump Installer Network (HPIN). Abode has now been asked to enhance its support services under this program to include expanded support both to commercial contractors who serve small-medium businesses (SMB) and to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. - Using processes and tools developed by Abode, the Commercial Decarbonization Advisor will provide virtual consultations to SMB and C&I customers to help them evaluate and move forward when it makes sense to with utilizing air source heat pumps to meet heating/cooling needs. - The Commercial -Decarbonization Advisor will also meet regularly in the field with manufacturers, distributors, and contractors to help spread the word about utility rebates and other incentives. - This is a terrific opportunity for someone with previous SMB/C&I heat pump experience to apply that experience more broadly to help realize the climate impacts of electrification. - Position Responsibilities:Reporting initially to Abode's Senior Program Manager and working closely with the rest of Abode's Decarbonization team, this position will include some or all of the following responsibilities:

  • Engage with contractors, distributors, and manufacturers to expand awareness of Energize CT commercial heat pump incentives
  • Participate in relevant events as a program representative
  • Provide general guidance on industry best practices and project considerations through virtual consultations and targeted site visits -
  • Ensure projects leverage all available rebates and incentives, including financing options
  • Provide customers with a post-consultation summary email
  • Develop 1-2 on-line courses focused on program benefits for the eLearning Center
  • Build an accessible and diverse network of manufacturers' technical reps to support contractors and project stakeholders
  • Leverage existing contractor outreach to grow HPIN list
  • Provide a real-time program dashboard and provide monthly summary reportsQualifications:Strong candidates for this position will bring most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:
    Strong technical expertise in building science, HVAC systems and energy efficiency. - - Experience with system design and installation for heat pumps would be ideal.Demonstrated aptitude for learning industry jargon and technical content and translating it into clear, concise, digestible information.Familiarity with navigating government or utility incentive programs.Previous experience working with home improvement contractors.Effective oral and written communications skills; both 1:1 and in making presentations to groupsDemonstrated aptitude working with software such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce. - Calm, even temperament suited to meeting people with different needs and backgrounds where they are.Adaptable, flexible, collaborative team player that brings a positive can-do attitude.A self-starter, able to proactively manage competing demands and changing schedules to complete tasks in a timely and diligent manner.Compensation and Benefits:
    This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with a starting annual base salary plus bonus totaling $70 -to $90K -depending on relevant experience.
