Business Analyst - HIMCO The members of the Program Management
Office (PMO) work together as a team to ensure that Hartford
Investment Management Company (HIMCO) is using the right tools,
approaches, and metrics to manage business enhancements and SIO
funded projects. Types of efforts that this position may be
involved with include new product development, process redesign,
internal controls improvements, system vendor
selection/implementation, and system development. It will also
include complex and nontraditional securities products that involve
non-standard trade processing, clearance, and documentation (e.g.
Derivatives). The PMO supports a variety of process improvement
efforts, system enhancements as well as complex projects that are
planned and executed by HIMCO and the Business Operations team. The
PMO seeks a Senior Business Analyst with strong business analysis
skills to help the organization execute project initiatives. This
position will have contact with the technical areas of the
organization, so exceptional analysis, problem identification and
resolution skills are critical.
- Ensure seamless execution for Business Operations-centric
initiatives, utilizing their investment experience while working in
a fast paced environment to drive business outcomes.
- Analyze and document complex business and operational
requirements and specifications (facts, ideas, perspectives)
through verbal, written and presentation communication methods to
all areas of the organization.
- Responsible for leading stakeholder interviews and requirements
sessions in order to document detailed requirements for assigned
efforts, with the ability to apply the appropriate knowledge and
techniques necessary to draw out requirements completely and
accurately from stakeholders.
- Ability to structure and drive working and informational
sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy, and achieve
desired outcomes within time allotted.
- Responsible for managing the testing of new requirements, as
well as testing and validating existing requirements for process
and code changes.
- Act as liaison and consultant between all HIMCO functional
areas to develop new or enhanced processes.
Assist in project management work and other department ad-hoc
assignments. Qualifications:
- Has an in-depth knowledge of investment products and services,
securities processing and information technology.
- Through past experience working in various functional areas,
has a broad understanding of securities operations.
- Bachelor degree and at least 10+ years of professional
experience, with at least 5 supporting the investment
industry.
- Possesses strong functional knowledge and skills reflective of
a competent practitioner.
- Strategic analytical and problem resolution skills: ability to
provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business
holistically and support the future roadmap.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the
ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced
environment
- Expected to know/learn the Agile methodology and work with IT
scrum teams as assigned.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the
organization (e.g. Entry level through to Senior Management)
- Strong leadership and presentation skills.
- Proactively pursues issue escalation and risk assessment when

past 2 calendar years. Compensation The listed annualized base pay
range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the
external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or
below the listed range based on factors including but not limited
to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies
required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The
