Job Description:
Must Have:
- 5+ years of Azure architecture / engineering experience.
Someone who understands Azure services completely and can be
recommending what the best practices are to put into play
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, specifically having
experience within infrastructure (networking) NOT applications
focused
- Strong Network Engineering background
- Security Scanning experience
Whitelisting aka Secure Hub Initiative at a High level:
- CVS is an enterprise IT practice. They've established framework
that has become an entry point for all of their enterprise
applications to get deployed. They have the framework built but
they don't have all of the best practices around security in place
right now, which is what they need this resource to come help with.
The framework right now is critical but they have taken a fast
approach here when it comes to their Drive to the Cloud
initiatives.
- Drive to the Cloud : CVS has a massive enterprise-wide
initiative to push as many applications/databases/systems, etc. to
the cloud (Azure, GCP and AWS) and decommission old legacy
applications.
- Every enterprise application needs to pass through this Secure
Hub in order for the application to properly be deployed and
effectively work. The issue that they're running into is that when
an application gets deployed in Azure - it is talking to other
areas within this Hub but some of these applications are being
blocked due to not being able to get through this framework and
configure based on the lack of security protocols in place. For
example, if an application requires internet access but the
internet is not working when you're trying to access the
application, there could be interferences based off of security
protocols that are currently in place or lack of. They need an
Azure expert to be able to come in and consult with the internal
CVS teams to give recommendations around what protocols should be
in place in order for them to effectively pass through the Secure
Hub.
- Once these protocols are put in place, the cloud engineering
group would take it to a secure test area, scan it against Azure
policies and scan the environment to determine if the environment
is meeting the correct security controls or not - if it is, great -
it's ready to be deployed and pass through the SecureHub. If it
doesn't meet these standards, how do you adjust that and what needs
to be changed? From there, the applications should be able to pass
through the SecureHub and effectively work without a glitch when
the users are accessing, all while being as protected from cyber
security threats as much as possible
- This resource will be working very closely with the Engineering
teams, specifically the cloud engineering and network engineering
teams.
- Security piece: this person must understand the security
protocols at a high level - they will be working with an internal
security resource with on this initiative so they do not need to be
an SME security cloud architect, but they need to be an SME within
Azure in order to understand how to work with various teams around
what needs to be in place in order for these applications to
effectively work
- Must have a STRONG background in Networking - hands on
experience applying infrastructure with automation
