We offer professional development, tuition reimbursement, and career pathways that allow you to develop your career while an Oak Hill employee.GENERAL PURPOSEThe Adaptive Equipment Technician for the NEAT Center at Oak Hill is the heart and soul of our adaptive equipment reuse services. Interacting constantly with our broad member and customer base, the adaptive equipment technician is responsible for providing adaptive equipment maintenance, maintaining and organizing inventory, and delivery of equipment. Ideally, the adaptive equipment technician will be familiar with complex wheelchair and pediatric adaptive equipment. This position is a key member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary, assistive technology team which provides services aligned with best practice. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, non-profit organization.CRITICAL WORK RELATIONSHIPSAND WORKFLOW INTERDEPENDENCIESThe close work and collaboration of the interdisciplinary team at NEAT is critical to this role. Additionally, this individual will work with other Oak Hill Centers teams, and various Oak Hill administrative departments on a daily basis.TARGET OUTCOMES/MEASURES OF SUCCESS--- High Customer/member satisfaction--- Increased customer/member engagementDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Perform routine assessment, sanitation, maintenance and simple repairs on gently used adaptive equipment in a timelymanner and in accordance with best practice in reuse and safety, and within company policies.2. Working closely with Customer Service Representative and NEAT Team to assure quality service. Must be able to prioritize necessaryequipment modifications to prepare for sale or delivery.3. Will conduct safe driving procedures during equipment delivery as well as during repairs conducted at customer's residence.4. Performs workstation, laundry, office organization and maintenance tasks. This includes maintaining documentation, both paper-based and digital,of adaptive cleaning tasks.5. Demonstrates competency on cleaning protocols, disassembling and reassembling of equipment as well as inventoryingtools, supplies, parts and equipment.QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTSStrong communication skills. Basic computer skills. Close attention to detail. Calm and comfortable phone manner. Willingness to be flexible and responsible with a variety of tasks. Eagerness to work as part of a customer service team. Strong problem-solving skills and creativity. Time management skills. Mechanically inclined. Ability to work independently for much of the day. Must have a clean driving record. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis. Assist the Customer Service Representative in developing a daily schedule of equipment deliveries and pick-ups. Attends appropriate conferences to continually improve current knowledge of equipment and best practice in reusePreferred Requirements: Bi-Lingual Spanish or ASL.
