The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$195,400.00 - $312,800.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?Collaborative Environment, Transformational Projects, and a Growing Team!As a member of the Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technology leadership team, you'll be joining a strategic and collaborative organization that is passionate about transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving the way for best-in-class solutions.As the VP & Chief Architect supporting Bond & Specialty Insurance (B&SI), you will report directly to the SVP, Enterprise Architecture & Emerging Technology and you will have a dual reporting relationship to the the CIO, B&SI. You will collaborate with senior Technology and Business leaders and apply your knowledge of modern technology to influence and innovate solutions that impact the business. In this role we will look to you to:- lead the effort to create the "north star" technology architecture for B&SI- drive transformation of technology capabilities and pave the way for best-in-class solutions- serve as a key member of the EA&ET and B&SI Technology senior leadership teams- define a target state, roadmaps and identify new and emerging technologies that will transform and optimize B&SI's business- work within a community of architecture leaders to establish and continually evolve a unified architecture vision- humbly lead and inspire a team of high-performing architects who you will coach, mentor and empowerLet us help you accelerate your career as we grow our team and transform our business!What Will You Do?Accountable for full organizational responsibility for Technology Architecture in support of B&SI. You will lead three (3) teams, one spanning the Management Liability, Surety and Bond Claim value streams, one focused on Business Insights & Analytics, which cuts across all value streams, and one building Common Domain Services for others to leverage.Establish the technical target state and roadmap, and ensure that the multi-year plan incorporates and aligns with the overall technology strategyWork with the Senior leadership within Technology and Business to develop architecture priorities and direction to enable business imperativesLiaise between engineering and architecture teams to drive commonality, standards and best practices that meet the business needs and align to the enterprise ageDrive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debtLook for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterpriseDefine and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of new technology architecture solutionsBuilds strong partnership with engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology directionPrepares and delivers comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategyOptimizes talent strategy to ensure proper mix of resources and attracts and recruits best talentContinuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecturePerform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 15+ years of technology Architecture experienceP&C insurance, preferably in Specialty and/or BondHave hands on experience in the last five (5) yearsDemonstrated management, leadership and mentorship experience to architects, including senior architecture leadersA visionary executive with a track record of building high-quality enterprise solutions and teamsResults-driven, with strong architecture and engineering skills, and a deep understanding of modern technologies including Cloud-native, APIs, AI and MLHigh integrity; a person who believes in challenging the status quo when needed, while always first seeking to understandOrganizational and transformational leadership experience in an agile operating modelExpert level Software Engineering awarenessDemonstrated experience leading development of strategic technology direction and architecture vision for a large organizationExperience in developing technology target state and roadmaps that align to Short- and Long-term business goalsProven track record of Influencing C-level leadershipStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementDemonstrated ability to drive decisionsMust be passionate about technology transformationsExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API StrategyCurrent experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOpsGood understanding of securityExperience with large scale technology platformsWhat is a Must Have?15 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a line of business or enterprise areaFour years of previous management experience.What Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
