Project Supervisor! These positions will lead all aspects of

\r\r\r Meet with State staff, State building and fire inspectors,
consultants, and contractors\r Lead construction projects\r Design
small projects on AutoCad\r Bid projects\r Develop construction
budges and schedules, recommending cost saving measures when
appropriate\r Act as primary liaison between other agency divisions
regarding technical and sustainable development planning,
engineering, and construction issues relating to projects\r Ensure
proper record management and report systems are in place\r\r\rMORE

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)In the Department of Economic
and Community Development this class is accountable for the
oversight of planning in accordance with responsible growth
standards, coordination and construction of complex building
projects belonging to the recipient of agency funding. \rIn the
Military Department this class is accountable for---planning and
overseeing the---construction of complex building projects
belonging to the state and/or federal government.\rIn the
Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services this class is
accountable for overseeing complex building projects including
design work.\r EXAMPLES OF DUTIES\r\r\r Oversees and coordinates
services of consultants and contractors on funding recipient or
agency construction or planning projects to adhere to
environmental, sustainable development and responsible growth
principles and practices;---\r Recommends and reviews construction
management contract services and fees to ensure conformance to
requirements of contract documents and sustainable
requirements;---\r Monitors, recommends and reviews construction
management and/or administration firm's execution of contract
including project design plans and construction cost estimates for
large scale or complex projects;---\r Ensures adherence to good
engineering practices and compliance to latest engineering codes
and standards;---\r Reviews projects to ensure compliance with
state and federal laws, statutes and regulations;---\r Reviews
permit applications developed for projects funded by agency or
federal government;---\r Prepares conceptual roadway, building
development, land division and site location plans for complex or
large scale agency or federally funded proposals;---\r Attends
construction workshops and progress meetings to convey management
impacts of construction to current contract schedule and
budget;---\r Reviews and develops construction accounting reports
and monitoring programs for internal and external oversight of
project;---\r Conducts site visits to review compliance with state
and federal guidelines and funding conditions;---\r Provides
assistance in reviewing contract bids and change orders for state
or federally funded projects;---\r Recommends cost saving measures
and construction practices to ensure cost benefits realized on
state or federally funded projects;---\r Anticipates potential
problems and directs resolution in areas of design, contracts
scheduling, construction and inspection;---\r Communicates with
municipal agencies, state agencies, federal government, clients and
professional staff to coordinate and facilitate projects;---\r Acts
as primary liaison between other agency divisions regarding
technical and sustainable development planning, engineering and
construction issues relating to projects;---\r Ensures proper

Addiction Services:------\r\r\r\r\r Designs and oversees
renovations of buildings providing inpatient and/or outpatient
healthcare services, including design of HVAC, plumbing, and
electrical systems, and information technology and
architecture.---\r\r\r KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY\r\r\r\r
Considerable knowledge of\r \r principles, practices and methods of
large scale building construction and/or renovation;---\r
sustainable development practices and responsible growth
principles;---\r building construction and/or renovation management
concepts;---\r relevant state and federal laws;---\r \r \r
Knowledge of\r \r environmental policies and practices;---\r
building materials and design work including trade areas,
information technology and architecture;---\r \r \r Considerable\r
\r interpersonal skills;---\r oral and written communication
skills;---\r \r \r Ability to\r \r plan, direct, coordinate,
supervise, expedite and evaluate work of construction management
and/or administration firms and other technical staff involved in
design, review and construction of particularly large complex

\r\rDepartment of Mental Health and Addiction Services:\r\r\r
Knowledge of\r \r mental health hospital design and codes,
including ligature codes and issues;---\r hospital accrediting body
standards;---\r \r \r Knowledge of and skill in computer aided
drafting (AutoCAD).\r\r\r\r\r MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL
EXPERIENCEEight (8) years of experience in the engineering design
and review of large construction projects including environmental
planning and land preparation, utility services and sustainable
development practices for housing development and/or specialty and
commercial buildings.\rDepartment of Mental Health and Addiction
Services: Eight (8) years of experience in design and construction
of large projects including mental health facilities.\r MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCEOne (1) year of the General
Experience must have included responsibility for project
administration of large complex construction projects. \rNOTE:
Large complex projects are not intended to include residential
homes.\r MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED\r\r College
training in architecture or engineering may be substituted for the
General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours
equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4)
years for a Bachelor's degree. \r A Master's degree in architecture
or engineering may be substituted for one (1) additional year of
the General Experience.\r\r\r PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\r Experience
with AutoCad\r Experience with building codes\r Experience with
construction methods\r Experience administering large construction
projects\r\r SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS\r\r Incumbents in this class may
be required to travel.\r Incumbents in this class may be required
to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's
