to the best of my knowledge. Job Description As a Comparative
Medicine Intern, you will participate in all three pillars of
Comparative Medicine – vivarium, regulatory and technical. Have the
opportunity to gain experience with various study designs
(pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, etc.) and assist in
vivo studies supporting multiple therapeutic areas. While
maintaining a core focus on learning and demonstrating rodent in
vivo technical skills, as well as learning basic vivarium
operations concepts including husbandry, veterinary care, and
welfare regulations. Additionally, you will participate in Vivarium
Lean Management and Operational Excellence initiatives and obtain
Lean Six Sigma certification at the white belt and yellow belt
levels. Attend convened Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
(IACUC) meetings and interact with internal and external members to
learn about regulatory and AAALAC accreditation requirements
governing the way we work. Shadowing the IACUC administrator
working with Takeda Principal Investigators and Takeda research
staff members on IACUC protocol creation, amendments, post approval
monitoring (PAM) and training compliance. You will have an
opportunity to participate on Operational Excellence projects
helping to bridge workflows and streamline efficiencies for
Takeda’s Animal Care and Use Program. Examples of individual
projects may include: creating a presentation to the In Vivo
Husbandry and Research Teams regarding NAMs (New Approach Methods),
creating multiple dashboards able to track real-time animal usage
across Takeda projects and protocols, and CRO animal welfare
approved lists and grades; selecting two internal workstreams to
evaluate and streamline; and collaborating with the technical
manager to refine and complete a data archiving initiative. How You
Will Contribute: As a Comparative Medicine Intern, you will have
the opportunity to… Work with various functions within R&D such
as Pathology, Strategy & Operations, and Drug Discovery Units
(DDUs) Work with Takeda’s animal regulatory and animal welfare
landscape to include Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
participation and practice review Assist in archival of study data
and specimens Track reporting deliverables and graph real-time data
Work in teams, effectively manage projects, and present ideas
clearly and concisely. Work with Takeda’s animal regulatory and

Use Committee participation and practice review Assist and
participate in various Operational Excellence initiatives
Internship Development Opportunities: Learn sample processing,
sample transfer, and study updates with multiple groups Hands on
introduction to in vivo manipulations and techniques Receive
hands-on training with autoclaves, washers, rodent husbandry
practices, quality control activities, and other Vivarium
operations Assist in animal studies supporting multiple therapeutic
areas of Takeda including Oncology, Neuroscience, GI and Vaccines
Job Requirements: This position will be fully on site Ability to
work collaboratively in a team environment Comfortable working in a
laboratory environment Internship Eligibility Must be authorized to
work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December
2026 or later The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on
the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August
21st) The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for

transparent with our pay practices. For Location: USA - MA -
Cambridge - Binney St U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $21.00 - $46.00 The
estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this
position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the
candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of
internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance
with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
