Yacht Club Larchmont, New York Summer 2026 Seasonal Position $18.00
to $22.00 per hour Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Reports to: Camp Director About Larchmont Yacht Club and Camp
Seagull Larchmont Yacht Club is one of the country’s most respected
private yacht clubs, known for its sailing excellence and strong
family culture. Located on 11 waterfront acres along Long Island
Sound, just outside New York City, the Club offers a vibrant summer
environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and
build confidence. Camp Seagull is the centerpiece of our summer
youth programming. Serving children from preschool through 4th
grade, the camp blends sailing, swimming, sports, creative arts,
music, and outdoor exploration into a dynamic and well-rounded
experience. Our program is intentionally designed to balance
structure with creativity, allowing children to discover new
interests while building social skills and self-assurance. Music is
an important part of that experience. We are seeking a skilled and
enthusiastic Music Program Specialist who can create joyful,
engaging, and developmentally appropriate musical experiences for
young children. Position Summary The Music Program Specialist leads
daily music instruction and enrichment for campers ages preschool
through 4th grade. This role is ideal for music teachers,
elementary educators, choir directors, early childhood instructors,
music education students, and private instructors seeking a
rewarding summer opportunity. You will design and deliver
age-appropriate programming that introduces rhythm, movement,
singing, basic instrumentation, digital music creation, and
creative expression. The ideal candidate understands how to engage
young learners, maintain structure while encouraging creativity,
and build confidence through performance and participation. This is

Plan and lead daily music sessions tailored to preschool and
elementary-age campers Introduce foundational musical concepts
including rhythm, melody, tempo, and expression Lead group singing,
movement-based music activities, and simple instrumental
exploration Guide campers in composing and arranging
age-appropriate digital music projects using accessible technology
Incorporate basic music production tools to foster creativity and
introduce modern music-making techniques Create inclusive
programming that encourages participation from children of all
skill levels Adapt instruction to support varying developmental
stages and attention spans Maintain and organize musical
instruments, digital equipment, and materials Prepare campers for
informal performances or end-of-session showcases when appropriate
Collaborate with fellow specialists and counselors to support
themed events and camp activities Participate in staff orientation,
meetings, training sessions, and special camp events Uphold safety
standards and maintain a positive, well-managed environment Ideal
Background We welcome candidates with experience in: Elementary or
early childhood music education Choir or ensemble direction Private
music instruction Digital music composition or introductory music
production Early childhood development and arts enrichment Camp or

Required: Experience working with preschool and elementary-age
children Strong instructional and classroom management skills

approach Availability for the full 2026 summer season Preferred:
Degree or coursework in music, music education, or a related field
Teaching certification or equivalent instructional experience
Proficiency in one or more instruments suitable for group
instruction Familiarity with beginner-friendly digital music
platforms CPR and First Aid certification Prior camp or youth
